West Side Foucauldian Story
For years, I've used West Side Story's "Officer Krupke" to illustrate the disciplinary implications of panopticism, i.e., "power/knowledge," or, that disciplines discipline through (respective) discourses. Today, my student Walter Moran suggested to our class that the little girl in the film's opening could be drawing a Panopticon (@1:02). Great observation!
